DEI is not just a concept, it is an approach that recognizes the importance of creating a workplace, community, or society that values and embraces the differences of all individuals.
I grew up as a first-generation, low-income student from Brazil’s Landless Workers Movement (MST in Portuguese). MST is a mass social movement, formed by rural workers and by all those who want to fight for land reform and against injustice and social inequality in rural areas. Through MST, over 370,000 families have been settled, including my own. Despite these achievements, many families continue to push for access to healthcare, credit for agricultural production, and schools.
DEI is a principle that guides my actions and decisions. I believe in the power of unity through our differences and am dedicated to fostering an environment where every individual's unique background and perspective are not only acknowledged but also heard.
My goal is to contribute to a world where everyone has the opportunity to grow and improve themselves.
