I grew up as a first-generation, low-income student from Brazil’s Landless Workers Movement (MST in Portuguese). MST is a mass social movement, formed by rural workers and by all those who want to fight for land reform and against injustice and social inequality in rural areas. Through MST, over 370.000 families have been settled. However, these families continue to push for access to healthcare, credit for agricultural production, and schools. My family is among those that have been settled by the MST.
I believe in the power of unity through our differences, I am committed to fostering an environment where every individual's unique background and perspective are not only acknowledged but also heard. Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) is not just a concept; is an approach that recognizes the importance of creating a workplace, community, or society that values and embraces all individuals' differences. DEI is a principle that drives my actions and decisions. I am dedicated to contributing to a world where everyone has an opportunity to improve themself.
